It was very dark. After sleeping all day, the world had woken up at night: there were fireflies and moths, and owls and wild cats and could hear the rustling of the trees and the chirping of cicadas.
Junchiro was happy it was good to hear that music sound instead of swords and the cries of the wounded men.
However, he was surprised that grove was larger than he had expected. Cross over before it had seemed discern its limits. Now, however, in light of the moon, could not see beyond the nearest trees, growing increasingly together, as if thickened to block his way.
It was now two hours riding, angry with himself for not being able to calculate how far the trees, he saw in a clearing, a lighted house. The sign on the door read: Posada de las Tres Cuerdas.
Junchiro dismounted, very happy to have found a nice place to spend the rest of the night. He tied his horse, took off his sandals and entered a large room, lighted by a lamp aseita.
It was a comfortable and clean. The floor was covered (as in all Japanese homes) for new mats.Beside the lamp was a china teapot, and the side on a silver platter, a bottle of sake and a small bowl. The room was empty and the silence was absolute.
